With a bit of spit and polish the railway line could go through to at least Pukuatua Street, near Boys High, in Rotorua if the will was there. So, please don't throw Rotorua on the scrap heap! Lots of tourists would love to travel by train to Rotorua.

I made the same points in my submission to the select committee enquiry into regional passenger transport - most cities and towns still have stations and railway lines from the days when we had an extensive passenger train service. A lot of stations would need refurbishment, but they are there. Every MP needs to get your report.
